ABSTRACT
This study was used to produce bio-coke from organic waste of teak wood sawdust (Tectona grandis L.f.) which aimed to determine the effect of activation temperature on bio-coke quality. The quality of bio-coke can be determined from the moisture, ash, volattile matter, fixed carbon and heat value. The process of making bio-coke begins with cleaning then drying teak sawdust. After that, do the printing with pyrolysis method. The pyrolysis process used an initial temperature of 110℃ which was maintained for 15 minutes. Then the temperature was varied 400℃, 500℃ and 600℃ maintained for 15 minutes after it was cooled to room temperature. From the results of the study showed that the increase in pyrolysis temperature can reduce the value of moisture, vollatile matter and can increase the bound fixed carbon and ash. This can be seen in the heat value at 400℃ at 5541.29 cal/gr, a temperature of 500℃ at 6707.9 cal/gr and a temperature of 600℃ at 6949.41 cal/gr.
