This study aims to examine whether Technology-Immersed Generations which includes digital native generations are sophisticated to use technologies inherently and their learning preferences or styles will differ from Digital Immigrant generations or not. The methodology of this study was Quantitative study by using ex post facto design. Seventy-third English teachers as sample from 129 English teachers who teach spread entire SMP in Kendari. The techniques of data collection used questionnaires. ICT questionnaire is utilized to divide the TIGs into Computer Literate (CL) or Computer Illiterate (CI) and VLS questionnaire is utilized to examine learning preference. Analyzing data used Mann-Whitney Test in SPSS 20.0. The results revealed that 1) there are significant differences between DN and DI preference in using all VLS,VLS based on Technology, Metacognitive and Social strategy and on the other hand there are no significant differences between DN and DI preference in using memory, determination and cognitive strategy. 2) There are no significant differences between DNCL and DICL preference in using all VLS, VLS based on Technology, and all subcategories of VLS. It suggested that differentiation of vocabulary learning strategy preference between DN and DI is not caused by the year of birth status, but it tends to caused by their skill in using technology, especially on the use of VLS based on technology whether they are sophisticated or not. When both of DN and DI are sophisticate to use technology, the preference to use VLS based on technology tend to similar, meanwhile when both DN and DI have different skill in using technology, the preference to use VLS based on technology tend to differ.
