This study is aimed to analyze Descendants movie that director by Kenny Ortega which released 2015. Naomi Wolf’s theory is used to explain the problem of the study that deal with beauty myth. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative. The data were collected through process of watching, pausing and interpreting and then the writer analyses those data by using the theory of beauty myth by Naomi Wolf. The result of data analysis found that beauty myth illustrated in Descendants movie it is depicted through Evie, Evil Queen’s daughter as a symbol of the ideal beauty, who has influenced by Evil Queen itself. In which Evil Queen always told to her daughter to be more attention to the beauties. Jane, Fairy Godmother’s daughter who want to be beautiful as perfect because she is not beautiful like her mother. Lonnie, Mulan’s daughter also make beauty myth is exist because she feel unsatisfied if only with her short hair. Audrey, Sleeping beauty’s daughter, she always thought that she is beautiful even though her appearance not belonging to beauty standard. Not only that, those are characters who demolished the myth of beauty that present in this movie. It is depicted through Evie, who finally realize that beauty as physically does not enough. Carlos, Cruella de Vil’s son, he has different character with her mother, he really love the dog although at first he feel afraid because of the story from his mother about the dog but he still can believe that the dog is an animal who can be loved and they can love each other. Prince Benjamin, Queen Belle and King Beast’s son, he prove that beauty as physically is not important than the kindness in a heart, same as what the Fairy Godmother thinking to her daughter. It seems that Descendants movie tried to depicted the diversity of the characters, but the myth of beauty break enacted in it.
