ABSTRACT
The objective of this study were to investigate students’ social presence, to investigate students’ satisfaction to Online Learning and to find out the correlation between students’ social presence and satisfaction toward their achievement. This study adopted a multiple correlation research design since one of the research question focused on investigating the correlation between a set of variables; Social Presence, satisfaction and Students’ Achievement. Instruments of the study were questionnaire, and relevant documents of students’ learning outcomes. The study was conducted at the English Language Education study program, in Halu Oleo Univesity, involving students who had joined and experienced the use of CMC in their class. Thirty Four students participated in this study by filling out a two kind of questionnaires. Result of the study showed that generally the students give their positive respond to each item in Social Presence and Satisfaction Questionnaires which leads to a conclusion that they have a high social presence and satisfaction to online course. Furthermore, the last research question revealed that there is a positive low correlation between Social Presence and Students’ achievement.
