ABSTRACT
PT. ST Nickel Resources is one of the companies holding IUP nickel ore
mining with an area of 1,818 Ha which was established and started exploration
activities in 2009 to carry out production activities in 2015 to date. The
importance of the application of occupational safety and health (k3) in the
production area is the aim of this study to evaluate the application of
occupational safety and health (k3) in the production area of PT. ST Nickel
Resources. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative, using
data collection techniques by direct observation and in-depth interviews with all
workers of PT. ST Nickel Resources, amounting to 41 respondents, was conducted
by census or total sampling method, with interactive data analysis techniques. The
results of this study are the application of occupational safety and health (k3)
using standard operating procedures in activities in the production area has been
carried out effectively, but not with the use of personal protective equipment
attributes, where there are still many workers who are still reluctant to use
protective equipment attributes complete self due to lack of awareness of the
workforce and the absence of sanctions and supervision from the company, as
well as the lack of installation of K3 signs on the mine road.
