Figurative language is used literary works that contain the taste and purpose of the author to make the literature more interesting to the reader. In figurative language make the reader can know the true meaning of a sentence. The aims of the research from the thesis are: To find out the types of figurative language are used in lyrics Ed Sheeren’s songs on Divide album, and to find out the most dominant of figurative language on Ed Shereen’s Songs Divide album.In this research, the writer used a qualitative method because the data in the form of written words or oral data collection techniques, collected from the album Divide, the album was released in March 2017. And the writer did 7 steps for techniques of analysis data, the follows: Listening the songs, reading songs, tries to find words contain gfigurative language, underlining related words in figurative language, identifying, classifying the lyrics, coding, and finally creating tables and charts.The result of the research the writer found the figurative language in the song lyrics of Ed shereen are, Personification, Metaphor, hyperbole, Simile, Litotes. And the most dominant of figurative language which is used in some songs is Metaphor.
