The problems in this study are: what kind of argument structures are used regarding the sinking of titanic and do the arguments have the relationship with relevance principle and the truth-seeking principle by using concept argumentative Damer and Toulmin. The aim objective studies are: to describe what kind of argument structured are used regarding the sinking of titanic and to analysis whether the arguments have the relationship with relevance principle and the truth-seeking principle. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative method. The source of data was the Nightlives on the untold stories and secrets behind the sinking of titanic book from the Walter Lord that published in 1995 in the United State which based on Damer book Attacking faulty reasoning and structure argument by Toulmin. The technique of collecting data as choosing the book and repeatedly reading book, taking and reducing the data the arguments behind sinking titanic from book. Technique of analyzing data as presenting, comparing, describing, interpreting and drawing conclusion. The result of this study shows that all arguments behind the sinking of titanic that contain the truth-seeking, relevance principle, appeal to belief, argument from authority and structure argument of Toulmin. All arguments behind sinking titanic only claim is true without supporting some stronger evidencebecause the data showed is still weak or claim is true. So, Damer as the writer wants to convey his argument by using human feeling to make his argument being accepted.
