Sambas Minerals Mining) CATRIA ANDANI SAWITRI,A F1B314003 (Mining Engineering, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology of Halu Oleo University) andanisafitri@gmail.com ABSTRACT Mining is one sector that is closely linked to opportunities for community income, employment opportunities, business opportunities, health, education and lifestyle. Koeono and Watudemba village (Mining circle) are two villages located in nickel mining activities conducted by PT.Sambas Minerals Mining in South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The purpose of study was to determine the effect of mining company production and the economic condutions of the community and how is communities’ growt rate in Koeono and Watudemba village (Mining circle). The method that used to determine the sampel in this study was random sampling. the populations in this study were 141 families with total sampel of 58 respondent in Koeono village and 171 families with total sampel of 63 respondent in Watudemba village. Descriptive quantitave analysis method was to used determine the growth rate of the community economic conditions, while simple liniear regression analysis was used to determine the effect of nikel mining company production on the economic condition. The result of the research in community economic condition of Koeono and Watudemba village ( Mining circle) in terms of community income opportunities, bisiness oppurtunities, and employment opportunities had a positive impact on the community because the company prioritized the locak community than the migrant community in education and health aspects, the mining had a negative ampact to the community because the facilities werw stille very minimal in both village. In the lifestyle, the mining had a negative impact because the communities still hold tightly to the costums that had been passed down from time to time. One the ether had, the result of simple linear regression analysis througt hypothesis testing, it was known that the nickel mining production had no effect on the community income opportunities, employment opportunities, bussines opportunities, health, education, and lifestyle because significant value was greater that the probability value, the probability value were 0.05.
