Need analysis is very important before designing teaching materials for English for Spesific Purpose. The objective of this study was to find out the need analysis of English on Marketing students’ of SMK Negeri 1 Kendari. This study used a descriptive qualitative design. The researcher used the simple random sampling technique. The researcher took population in the second-grade students of Vocational High School 1 Kendari in the academic year of (2017/2018). Total sample were 60 students. The data were collected by questionnaires and interview. The result shows that the students at second grade of SMK Negeri 1 Kendari felt unsatisfied with English materials they learnt. The students need add the time for English marketing subject. Most of students said that speaking and listening very difficult. The students wants to easy find a job. Hence, they chose marketing class. The urgent need about English of students that to communicate with foreigners. The students felt very important to attend private English course. Therefore, in private course easier to communicate, used good teaching method, and the materials was very interesting. The students like learning by listening and speaking in small group. The students will use English that their learnt at marketing service by speaking and listening. The students’ needs in marketing not appropriate with the reality they have. The teacher should add extra learning times for marketing subjects. Before designing any course, the syllabus or course designer as well as the teacher should apply the learning appropriate with the students’ needs in learning.
