CORRELATIONS BETWEEN CEPHALOFACIAL ANTHROPOMETRY WITH SEX IN STUDENTS OF MEDICAL FACULTY OF HALU OLEO UNIVERSITY

Background. Forensic medicine has a role in identification, especially in the dead or unknown bodies, the body is damaged or other explosives, and accidents with many victims killed with truncated bodies. Efforts in the identification process to determine age, race and gender. One of the identification techniques that can be used is cephalofacial anthropometry by measuring the head and face. In Southeast Sulawesi, there is not yet any study that use cephalofacial anthropometry to determine the sex. This study aims to determine the cephalofacial anthropometric correlation with sex in students of Medical Faculty of Halu Oleo University.
Method. The study used an observational analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The dependent variable in this study is sex. The independent variable of this study is Cephalofacial Anthropometry. The location of the study was at the Medical Faculty of Halu Oleo University with the number of respondents collected 214 consisting of 107 men and 107 women who match the inclusion criteria, Medical students batch 2015-2018 of Halu Oleo University, age 18-25 years old, Mongoloid race and not involved exclusion criteria. Data were obtained through head and face measurements, that is the measurements of head length, head breadth, horizontal circumference of head, bigonial diameter and facial length.
