In this study, many elements of evidentiality which have not been investigated thoroughly, especially the ways of investigating the criminal evidence in this Sleepy Hollow movie. The objectives of this study are to find out how evidence is described in Sleepy Hollow movie. This study uses qualitative descriptive design. The data is obtained from searching and downloading, watching, reading the script, coding and data reduction. The data is analysis by describing, interpreting and concluding the the results of analysis. The thesis show that evidence in Sleepy Hollow movie script can be categorised into two main types, i.e. evidentiality type 1 (unclear source of information) and evidentiality type 2 (clear source of information). Both evidentiality type 1 and type 2 refers to the process of uncovering the mystery of the existence of the Headless Horseman which tried to be investigated by the main character of the movie. From the data analysis, it could be concluded that Sleepy Hollow movie contains more evidentiality type 2 (clear source of information) than evidentiality type 1 (unclear source of information). For suggestion, Sleepy Hollow movie can also be analyzed using other related theories such as inference meaning, the language of report or presupposition because such a movie also contains more inference meanings, the elements of reportative language, and implied meanings in terms of presupposition.
