The objective of this study is to find out the effect of using YouTube video on student’s listening comprehension at the eleventh grade students of MAN 1 Kendari. The research question of this study is “is there any significant effect of using YouTube video on student’s listening comprehension?”. This research used true experimental design by comparing two classes, they were experimental class and control class while the samples of this research were class XI IPA 2 as the experimental class and XI IPA 1 as control class as the representative of the population of all eleventh grade students at MAN 1 Kendari in academic year 2018/2019. The experimental class consisted of 33 students and control class consisted of 34 students. The research instrument was 29 questions of listening comprehension test. To collect the data, the researcher gave pre-test, taught by using video material in experimental class and audio material in control class, and gave post-test. The result showed that students’ mean score in experimental class were 54.53 in pre-test and 75.33 in post-test, while students’ mean score in control class were 55.26 in pre-test and 65.31 in post-test. As the result, the mean score of post-test in experimental class was higher than in control class. Based on the calculation of T-test, it showed that the score of tcount = 3.266 was higher than ttable = 1.997 and the pvalue = 0.002 was lower than = 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected and H1 was accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using YouTube video on students’ listening comprehension at the eleventh grade students of MAN 1 Kendari.
