THE EFFECT OF ONLINE VIDEO BLOG AS MEDIA
ON STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT OF PASSIVE VOICE
IN 4J OPERATION KENDARI

Passive Voice is grammar pattern used to show interest in the person or object that experience an action. Then, the use of videos in education makes it possible to overcome practical real-world constraints and explore the far greater possibilities provided by digital spaces, especially for the video uploaded in online platform such as blog. This study examined whether online video blog as media have a significant effect on students’ achievement of passive voice. It used pre-experimental (one group pre-test and post-test) design. The subjects of this study were 10 students of Alfa 1 Class in 4J Operation. In the treatment, the students were asked to use online blog to access online video to study about passive voice. Then, they followed the instruction to share their opinion in the case study session by commenting the blog. Next, they should do the exercise provided in the blog. The treatment was conducted in 3 meetings with different topics about passive voice (Simple Passive Voice, Passive Voice in Tenses and Passive Voice Using Modals). The pre-test and post-test are conducted by using multiple choice questions as the instruments. Results showed in pre-test and post-test that there was an increase in mean score of pre-test (49,1) and post-test (63,5). Also, data from Paired Sample t-test showed that Sig.
