Hypertension is one of main cause of morbidity and mortality in Indonesia so that this disease is generally intervence in various health facilities. Noisy is an occupational health problem that always appear at a huge industry that use diesel fuel machine. Industrial development in Indonesia induce so many manpower that contact with a loudly and continuous noisy, so that can cause occupational health disease. Noisy was related to hypertension because it tend to cause emotional instability and stress. This research was aimed to analyze the correlation between noise intensity and blood pressure increasement among manpower at PT. PLN Persero Unit PLTU Nii Tanasa Konawe.
This research using analytical observational design with cross sectional approach. Independent variable was noise intensity and dependent variable was blood pressure increasement. This research was done at PT. PLN Persero Unit PLTU Nii Tanasa Konawe with total sample were 51 samples based on inclusion and exclusion criteria that selected by Nonprobability Sampling technique. Data was collected by using questionnaire, blood pressure measurement using mercury sphygmomanometer, and sound level meter to assess noise intensity, and then the data was analyzed by using Chi Square statistical test.
Result of this research shown that from 51 respondents with noise intensity level at 50,06-92,01 dB there were 18 (35,5%) manpowers that perform blood pressure increasement, and there were 33 manpowers that did not perform blood pressure increasement. Statistical test using Chi Square test shown that p value = 0,012 (p < 0,05).
Conclusion of this research there was correlation between noise intensity and blood pressure increasement among manpower at PT PLN Persero Unit PLTU Nii Tanasa Konawe.
