<note>ABSTRACT

    This study entitled the form and meaning of polite speech in the Tolaki language. The research was conducted on the basis of the fact that there is a form and meaning of polite speech in the Tolaki language. This research is based on the background, that in the Tolaki language narrative. Seeing that now young regeneration ranging from small children to adults, I no longer appreciate in speaking polite words. Starting from small children to adults, even the parents themselves, sometimes in speaking polite words to be rude. This is due to the limited knowledge of speakers about the types of speech Tolaki language manners. The problem of this research is how the expected objectives are to describe the Form and Meanings of Santun Speech in Tolaki Language.
    This type of research is field research. Data from the study are data in the form of polite speech in the Tolaki language, which includes polite speech in the family, namely parents to children and vice versa children to parents, sourced from native Tolaki speakers (informants) that have something to do with this research. Data sources used in this study are speakers or informants who know the form and meaning of polite speech in the Tolaki language. Data collection techniques in this study are (observation, interview, recording and recording). Data analysis techniques in this study are descriptive research using a Pragmatic approach. Modesty and politeness 
As for the research method outlined above, this study produced the form and meaning of polite speech in the Tolaki language, namely: Tabee, keno oki mobea, my mongoni tulungii ale'i kona Tanggalinggu. 
&#34;Excuse me, if it's not heavy, I ask for help, take me my hoe&#34; 
&#34;Excuse me, if you don't mind, I ask for help, get me a hoe&#34; very polite. Which signifies how polite the sentence is marked with the word &#34;tabee&#34; which is the essence of the sentence tabee, keno oki mobea, I am mongoni tulungii ale'i kona Tanggalinggu. This speech is based on the rules or core points &#34;make the loss of others as small as possible, and make other people's profits as big as possible.
         the following conclusions: focus on Form and Meanings of Compassion in Tolaki in two stages (1) the form and meaning of polite speech in thelanguage     Tolaki. Like a family which includes polite speech of parents to children and polite speech to children to parents. (2) the form and meaning of polite speech in the Tolaki language everyday.
