The Correlation Between Students’ Assertiveness Personality Behavior and Their Writing Ability
A Descriptive study at eleventh Grade of Senior High School 3 Konawe Selatan

This study investigated conduct a study which is guided question about whether there was or not the correlation between students’ assertiveness personality behavior and their writing ability: a case at eleventh Grade of Senior High School 3 Konawe Selatan. The design of this study was correlation research design. Moreover, the instruments of this study were assertive personality questionnaire and writing test. The population of this study were 100students which all students of eleventh grade of IPA registered 2016/2017 and into 25 students as the sample of this study. The data analyzed and calculated using SPSS 23 correlation pearson product moment through bivariate product moment analysis and used transform data and multiple regression to measure the effect and correlation between students’ assertiveness and their writing ability. Base on the quantitative data from the score of assertiveness and the writing score, the result shows that there is a positive and there is high significant correlation between students’ assertiveness personality behavior and their writing ability which sig value is 0,00 < 0,05 and the ® value are 0.426 (from assertiveness questionnaire and writing test ). It means that H0is reject and H1 accept. The result of the correlation showed that there is statistical significant relationship between assertiveness and writing ability. The result indicated that personality behavior was significantly different from each other regarding their performance on writing test, it also described that assertive students outperformed on writing test. This study suggested that for the next researcher may help students to develop their positive personality and achieve success in language learning especially in writing ability
