ABSTRACT
EVIYANTI (N1A1 14 002),BhangkaMbule-Mbule: Tradition Rejects bala in the community in MandatiVillage II, sub District Wangi-Wangi South, Wakatobi Regency. Under the guidance under the guidance of Mr. La Janu as the first mentor and Mr. RahmatSewaSuraya as the second mentor.
This study aims to find out what is the function of BhangkaMbule-mbule ritual in society in Mandati II village, Wangi-wangi South subdistrict, Wakatobi regency and to know and describeritual BhangkaMbule-mbulechallenge in the Community response in Mandati II Village, Wangi-Wangi SouthSubdistrict, Wakatobi Regency. This research was conducted in February 2018. This study uses Cultural Commodification Theory for Tourism by Barbara Herrnstein Smith (2010 ).This research method using the method of date obtained ethnography is analyzed descriptively qualitative, date analysis is intended to simplify the date obtained the into the form that is easier to read and interpreted.
The results showed that, BhangkaMbule-mbule ritual is a Thanksgiving for the success of the harvest obtained by the community from gardening and fishing. This ritual has the purpose to ask for safety in the treatment of the village, which is manifested in the form of religious ceremonies / rituals. This BhangkaMbule-mbule ritual has a functional value related to the life of the Mandati community, including sacred function, religious function safety, function, health function, art function (entertainment), economic function, and socio-cultural function. Along with the progress of the times, this BhangkaMbule-mbule ritual has changed with the emergence of globalization which resulted in the BhangkaMbule-mbule ritual experiencing a shift in function from the realm of sacrality to the domain of profanization. The ideology of capitalism that enters the realm of the Mandati community's traditional values becomes a cultural value that can serve as a commodity that is certainly worth selling so that BhangkaMbule-mbule experiences a shift in the value of function
