ABSTRACT
The application of remote sensing technology has currently evolved and covering a wide scope of study, for instance in geothermal exploration. The geological structures in geothermal exploration are related to permeable zones and can be correlated by the presence of surface manifestations. The purpose of this research is to observe the information related to the emergence of the geothermal manifestation of lineament information and surface temperature patterns based on Landsat-8 Satellite Image data. First line delineation is done by image quality improvement process using Gram-Schmidt Pan-Sharpening technique and PCA (Principal Component Analysis) method. The extraction from lineaments in image is assisted by PCI-Geomatica software LINE module based on automatic detection algorithms. The surface temperature of the soil is obtained from the processing of the Landsat 8 infrared thermal channel by converting the TIRS data into Brightness Themperature. The result of lineaments extraction in the study area indicates that the main direction of the lineaments have northwest-southeast direction and in accordance with the structural pattern on the regional geological map, as well as the structural pattern in the field. The result of thermal channel processing obtained temperature 17°-18,5°C at location of existence of manifestation of geothermal. The existence of geological structure, as well as the pattern of surface temperature have a close relation to the emergence of geothermal manifestations where the pattern of high temperature anomaly follows the direction of the existing geological structure pattern at the location of the discovery of manifestation.
