ABSTRACT
The result of the research showed that fishery resource of West Muna had a big support for developing Latawe Port. Potency of Latawe port was the cruise line covering the direction to Lainea of Laeya district (Torobulu) which has a long beach about 1.82 km. Latawe port is a Pier docks because it is shaping outs. The dock length was ±178 m and the width was ±2.30 m, the harbour area was 1.5 ha, projection of harbour flow until 2030 with ship visits 161 times and 34,821 GT, as well as projection of homecoming flow until 2030 with ship visits of 18,111 visits or 14,201 visits. The Development Strategy of Latawe Port as follow: Expanding the market share and inter-regional shipping network, improving infrastructure by increasing roads accessibility, enhancing the development of Latawe Port through government support, enhancing parties cooperation within the region and outside the region, conducting educational programs to the community, paying more attention to the quality, developing of facilities and infrastructure as well as increasing the length of the port, as well as organizing or settlements relocating.
